When Art + Science owner and founder Kelly Davis launched the hair salon in 2019, she did so with a focus on developing new talent and providing an atmosphere where hair stylists could thrive creatively. Together, the Art + Science team has learned from some of the top names in the industry, including Salt Society, Tracey Cunningham, Beth Minardi, and the professionals at Nine Zero One in Los Angeles. After decades of extensive training and experience, our hair stylists have developed a unique menu full of innovative techniques and salon services meant to give you a red carpet-worthy look.

Kelly Davis

Owner

Kelly specializes in all forms of hair coloring and prides herself on staying at the forefront of the hair industry. In her 40 years in the business, she spent five years as an educator for Sebastian  International, Goldwell, and Joico. She has had the opportunity to train with the top educators in the country including 901  Academy, the Salt  Society, and Beth Minardi. Outside of the hair salon, Kelly loves playing games with her six grandchildren.

Hayley Shumate

Hayley, who has been working in the beauty industry for four years, is a certified make-up artist with three years of experience working at Sephora. She also specializes in coloring  services such as blending with  balayage  or highlights. Hayley is someone who gives 100% of herself every day for her clients – every day is different and she enjoys meeting new people and ensuring they leave the hair salon feeling confident. One thing Hayley loves about this industry is that it's constantly changing and there is always room to improve.

Leslie Edwards

Leslie, who has been in the industry for 26 years, has had intense color training in New York and Miami. She specializes in natural lived-in blondes and adding fullness and length through the art of hair  extension  services. With Leslie’s unique gift for attention to detail with an artistic flair, strong relationships and long friendships are the driving force behind her success as a hairstylist.

Lydia Powers

I graduated from the Aveda institute in Charlotte in 2019. I started at Art + Science as an assistant and now I am a stylist, product specialist for R + CO, and I also manage the salon and the social media accounts!

Alyssa Montes

I started out as an assistant at Art + Science while she was in cosmetology school. I graduated from Caldwell Community college in March of 2022. I really enjoy doing color services, and want to specialize in lived-in-blondes. I love getting to meet new people and I enjoy giving people the confidence that they need with their new hair. I am constantly learning new things and growing as a stylist.

Catherine Lundberg

Catherine has four decades of experience in the salon industry. She was trained at the Vidal Sassoon  Institute in Los Angeles and owned her own salon in Santa Barbara as well as working in several high-end salons, catering to elite clientele.


After transitioning into the life coach industry four years ago, Catherine missed having her hands in hair and has decided to join our team delivering world-class experience to all. While she will be available to us on a limited basis, coaching is still her first love.


Beyond her professional endeavors, Catherine is a proud mother of two grown children. She cherishes quality time with her husband, Mark, and their adorable Yorky Poo, Kai. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, practicing Pilates, hiking, and metalsmithing.


Additionally, Catherine actively contributes to her church community and serves as an ambassador for her local Chamber of Commerce. Catherine's passion for both her work and personal pursuits make her a well-rounded and valuable member of our team.
